All payments through IPN's are failing now for non-USD transactions.
This is confirmed on 3 websites.
The last 400 transactions processed this evening which were not in USD have all failed 'INVALID'.

PAYPAL.. wake up please, and solve this issue now!

I'm guessing because it's only happening to non USD transactions PayPal wont realise until they get enough foreign complaints.
By that time we will need to process thousands of transactions manually.

PAYPAL, please read this.
Your IPN function is not working.
xml.responseText is returning 'INVALID'

As mentioned by someone called Wombat, it doesn't mean that the transaction per se failed.

Now, what's going on is that it is the IPN-PayPal communication which fails. The customers are billed/charged but our merchant systems fail to book these transactions because of the INVALID response (which should never occur for legitimate transactions).

We're experiencing this as well, and so are several others on this forum.

I think it's extra severe because the customers are charged and expect their goods or service for which they have paid.

Yes, i know.
It's one thing to get the funds, but to have to manually process all the failed orders..
Our websites are real-time, and we sell tangible goods. Customers will be buying stock that other customers have already purchased. Possibly leading to out-of-stock purchases by the time we manually update the order as paid and process it.

Getting the funds simply isnt good enough. The entire script needs to complete.
In fact, getting the funds and NOT processing the order immedietly is worse than if the IPN systemically failed.

I agree, totally!

Our site sells links to MP3s, which is really supposed to be instant delivery!

Makes us look really bad when the customer is charged, but their links don't work until we have manually fixed the transaction :-(

To all those that are experiencing IPN INVALID errors when account interface shows successful payments.....

Do any of you use PDT in conjunction with IPN as a backup process (usually in case IPN is slow). That is the best use of PDT when IPN is also activated.

So if you have both, is the PDT process working OK?

Interested to know as it would perhaps assist some under these conditions if they haven't set it up (i.e. where if PDT activates and discovers a trans ID hasn't been saved etc yet it does so; so that a late IPN with same trans ID will be ignored - if it arrives). Regards,

Sorry, I dont use PDT.

I just had to make a rough script which listed all the shopping cart rows in the db which had the auth_id entered but without completing due to the INVALID status.
Im clicking through more than 400 orders now, processing them manually (if they have an Auth_id).

I sure wish paypal would wake up soon and sort this issue out.

Sorry for the delay on updating this thread.

We are aware that some merchants are currently reporting INVALID IPN responses for a large amount of transactions.

Our technical teams are working diligently to resolve the issue. We will provide updates until the issue is resolved.

I'm glad this is getting acknowledged.

Just throwing my post in to keep the severity up, as we are also getting affected by the constantly INVALID IPN responses, if this doesn't get resolved soon I will have to allow INVALID responses into the order system.... obviously this is a can of worms on its own!

Is there any kind of service-status page for paypal that can stop me doubting my own scripts in these situations?
Kudos!
